Scuba Diving Courses - theoretical and practical classes focused on the acquisition of the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills that will enable the new divers to enjoy safely the underwater world across the world.
Introduction to Scuba Diving - for people who want to experience diving in shallow water and get a quick and easy introduction to what is required to explore the underwater world.
Program for the introductory, or "Discover Scuba Diving", course
Duration: half day
Number of dives: 2
Guests embark the embarcation on the beach of Los Cocos in Santa Marta, from where they will be brought to different dive sites chosen according to the program and the experience of the divers.
At the diving site they will be given an overview of the site's features, put on the equipment and diving teams will be formed.
After a last check-up we will begin the first dive of about 45 - 60 minutes. It's part of our protocol security that the boat always follows the path of the divers.
After this first dive, we will get to the nearest beach for debriefing and have a snack, this will be the opportunity to share your first impressions and get more information about everything you saw and the biodiversity of the area.
After about an hour, it will be time for our second dive of the day, you will be brought to the next site, briefing about the characteristics of this site and back to diving.
Program for Scuba diving courses
Certification: PADI
Duration: Approximately 3 days
Number of Dives: 6
On commencing the course, we will first agree with the clients on a schedule to define when will be performed all the theoretical and practical activities for the 3 three days of the recreational diver course. Theory classes will take place at Quimera's offices.
On a typical day, guests will embark the dive boat in one of Santa Marta's beaches called Los Cocos, from where they will be brought to the different dive sites depending on the course and the scheduled activity.
At the diving site they will be given an overview of the site's features, put on the equipment and diving teams will be formed.

After that activity, it will be time for our second dive of the day. We will proceed to the next dive site, chosen in accordance with the course and schedule that you are following, and again relevant information on the site will be given as well as the skills to be practiced on that dive.
After the dive, a last check that everybody is back onboard, we will enjoy a snack and drink and start exchanging all our impressions and experiences of the day while the boat heads back to the Playa Los Cocos.
